Citizen Watches
The Japan based Citizen
Watch Company was established in May, 1930. But the company’s forerunner,
Shokosha Watch Research Institute, saw the light of the world in 1918. In 1924,
the company created a watch and christened it ‘Citizen’. The concept of the name
was that a citizen is the denizen of the world - a world which is an abode of
every inhabitant of earth, whatever his nationality, creed or status is.
Today Citizen watches are
found all over the world. Citizen Eco-Drive technology has revolutionize the
watch industry. Citizen Eco-Drive watches draw power from light. A solar cell in
the watch converts the light into energy that the watch will run on. Once the
watch is fully charged, it can run for at least 6 months even in the dark. The
biggest benefit of Citizen Eco Drive watches is that you never need a battery
change and because the watch is still consider a quartz watch, it is extremely
accurate.
